FIRE REQUALIFICATION OF EXISTING WALLS
Very often existing walls are not in compliance with the fire resistance classification.
Amonn has developed a series of fire tests on masonry walls, protected with intumescent paints of its own production, in order to offer an optimal solution for the requalification of existing walls for fire resistance.
Today modern technology has changed even the construction of walls and more and more often light drywalls of coated plaster slabs are used in the building sector. These walls consist of a metal frame and plasterboard slabs that are screwed onto a supporting structure.
Therefore the research and development department of Amotherm has developed solutions for the protection of lightweight walls composed of a metal structure and coated plaster sheets type A (standard).
The protection system consists of a special primer and a water-based intumescent paint. The special Amotherm GYPS Primer WB primer allows the adhesion of the Amotherm GYPS WB intumescent paint onto the plaster core of the plasterboard sheet and improves the fire resistance of the wall.
Fire tests were conducted according to EN 1364-1 and the fire resistance classification according to EN 13501-2.

This solution is very FAST and has the following advantages:
- Avoid the application of further boards.
- It avoids the dismantling of existing wall elements composed of standard boards with fire-protection ones
- Requalification of the wall with the application of only primer and paint
The intervention can be carried out with the application of only the Amotherm GYPS WB cycle and can be applied by brush, roller or airless pump.
